What: Health Resources and Services Administration is expected to release new program guidance for the federal grant opportunity around construction and renovation of SBHCs in Fall 2010.

To prepare for this, learn steps and considerations for an SBHC construction or renovation project from an architect and an SBHC professional.

SBHC Practice Management Improvement - NASBHC Web Tutorial

NASBHC’s Practice Management Improvement (PMI) Web Tutorial is an online practice management improvement training package comprised of seven modules that walk the user though the implementation of a comprehensive SBHC practice management quality improvement process. 

The user will be able to assess the SBHC’s improvement across five domains:

•    Facilities,
•    Business Operations,
•    Human Resources,
•    Care Management, and
•    Practice Compliance. 

The modules come complete with narrated presentations; downloadable presentations, forms, and handouts in PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Adobe; and links to other practice management related resources.

Coding Outpatient Pediatric Visits: Terminology and Rules

  • Objectives: Define CPT, ICD 9, and DSM 4 Coding;
    Explain the reasons why appropriate coding and documentation
    is so important in SBHC settings


Outpatient Evaluation and Management Visits: Coding Steps and Case Studies

  • Objectives: List components of evaluation and management coding;
    Demonstrate correct use of CPT and ICD 9 codes
