Mitchell SBHC: The first frontier SBHC in Oregon!

Mitchell School is K-12 and has 70 students, including a student dormitory with students from all over the world. During the 2009-2010 school year there are students from Brazil, China, Germany, Japan and Norway.

Dental Services:
Dental services were added in February 2009. 
This is the only dental operatory in Wheeler County. 
Services to persons at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL) are offered at $25 per visit.  Persons between 101 and 200% of the FPL are offered a sliding fee discount.  Services are available 1-3 times per week and except for emergencies with established patients must be booked in advance by calling 541-763-2725.

PRIMARY CARE STAFF:

Daniel Allen, PA-C

Mr. Allen is retired from the U.S. Navy where he served as an Independent Duty Hospital Corpsman on various nuclear submarines. While in the Navy, he was selected for the Physician Assistant Program through George Washington University Medical School. After graduation he received his commission in the Navy and worked in Family Practice, Emergency Rooms, and assisted in General Surgery. Since retirement he has worked as a Physician Assistant and Administrator in Family Practice, Rural Health Clinics and with Indian Health Services. He came to Asher CHC in September 2006 from the Lake County Tribal Health Consortium.

Debbie Boettner, PA-C

Debbie has been working in a large family practice group in Austin, Texas for the last 15 years. Prior to that, she worked in a small rural clinic, as well as spent a few years outside of direct patient care investigating claims of malpractice. Having grown up in Oregon, she is pleased to be back in the Pacific Northwest providing health care in Wheeler County, joining the Asher CHC staff in November 2007.

 

DENTAL STAFF:

John Frachella, D.D.S.

John is the Dental Director. He served for 32 years as the Dental Director of a free clinic for indigent children in Bangor, Maine. His specialty is pediatric dentistry.

Asher Dental Services is also fortunate to have three experienced dentists available on contract:

  • Harry Cure, D.M.D.
  • Justin Higbee, D.M.D.
  • Larry Wogman, D.M.D.

They have a broad set of skills allowing restoration and dental surgery to be performed on site. Orthodontic evaluations and reduced cost treatment are available through referral to Juliana Panchura, D.M.D.

 

BILLING INFORMATION:

Asher Community Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center. Our mission is to provide primary care to all who come to our doors, regardless of their ability to pay. Payment plans are available to all who need them. Persons at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level qualify for reduced fees--$25-$35 per visit depending on your income and family size.

NO STUDENT AT THE MITCHELL SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH CENTER WILL BE TURNED AWAY DUE TO LACK OF ABILITY TO PAY, ALTHOUGH YOUR MEDICAL INSURANCE, IF ANY, MAY BE BILLED.
