Starbucks Shared Planet Youth Action Grants
Deadline: Letters of Inquiry due between October 1, 2010 and January 31, 2011.
Funding: $10,000 to $30,000 per year for up to three consecutive years
Purpose:
- Provide training to young people to develop necessary skills and knowledge to incubate ideas, identify and assess community needs, create a plan of action, execute a plan and evaluate outcomes against goals
- Build ongoing leadership capacity and long term engagement of young people
- Communicate young peoples' success stories through various media (print, video, web based)

Nike and Oregon Community Foundation - Nike Employee Grant Fund
Clackamas, Columbia, Multnomah, Washington and Yamhill counties in Oregon, Clark County in Washington
Deadline: November 15, 2010 and June 15, 2011
Funding: $500,000 per year to local non-profits. Grants will range from $5,000 to $20,000
Purpose: Most grants will be awarded through the lens of sport for projects that use sport or physical activitiy to leverage other community benefits, but some grants will be awareded for proejcts that address broader family and children's issues.
Idea: Partner with your school to create a healthy living program (fitness and nutrition) for the 2011 / 2012 school year. Consider using Shape Up Across Oregon as your program platform.

The Nathan Cummings Foundation
National funding that focuses on five core areas, including HEALTH.
Deadline: Rolling deadlines for Letters of Inquiry. Those invited to submit a full grant proposal must submit by either August 15 or January 15.
Purpose: To improve Americans' health by ensuring that all people in the United States have access to high quality and affordable health care and live in a healthy environment.
