** Flavored hookah tobacco (shisha) appeals to youth because it masks the harsher aspects of tobacco smoke. Shisha is available in dozens of candy, fruit, cocktail and coffee flavors.
** Youth describe hookah smoking as a social activity, without the stigma of cigarettes.
** Youth most frequently smoke hookah at homes, or at a friend's house.
** During a typical, hour-long hookah session, a smoker may receive one or two cigarettes worth of nicotene, but inhale 100 cigarettes worth of smok.
