Oregon School-Based Health Care Network is partnering with the National Assembly on School-Based Health Care (NASBHC) to celebrate National SBHC Awareness Month this February.

Awareness Month Kick-off with Awareness Day at the Capitol on February 1, 2012

 When: February 1, 2012 9am-3pm  

 Where: Oregon State Capitol

               900 Court St NE

               Salem, OR 97301  

Join us to educate and inform the legislators on importance of School-Based Health Centers, as they promote the health and academic success of children and youth. We invite you to come and participate in the days activities which will include: 

  • An interactive health access simulation workshop to show the challenges for uninsured and underserved families
  • Practice and prep to meet with your legislators about SBHCs
  • Meet with your Legislators to advocate for sustaining health in schools
  • Tour the Capitol building (optional)
  • Meet and learn from other students, professionals, and advocates across Oregon

Make Appointments with Elected Officials
Call your legislators and ask them for 15 minutes of their time.

Alert the Media
Send a press release to your local news publishers, tv and radio stations

Awarness Day Address

We will be at the Capitol Building all day.

Parking

Visitor Services in the State Capitol has parking information:  503- 986-1388

City Parking Passes:
The $6.00 passes are sold in Room 49 at State Capitol. These passes may be used in any 10 hour metered parking spaces within the area defined on the back of the pass. They allow you to park all day.

Metered Parking:
10-hour visitor meters are located on Court Street. They require (approximately .75/per hour.)
